What is NPTEL ?

The National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) is a unique MHRD initiative of the seven IITs and IISc to develop curriculum based e-learning resource materials. These are courses in web and video format that mostly follow the AICTE curriculum.

As a part of this initiative more than 5000 hours of video lectures and web-accessible content have been recorded on 260 courses collaboratively by seven IITs and IISC, Bangalore. A total of 260 such courses have already been developed in Phase-I and another about 1000 courses are being developed in Phase II of NPTEL. It covers all major disciplines of engineering on the UG core and elective subjects.

Why the NPTEL workshop?

The objective of the workshop is to increase the awareness about the courses already developed in Phase-I of NPTEL as well as their availability so that faculty can make the best use of these courses. Also it would make a two-way learning process for the SMEs from the feedback received from the participants on contents, formats and user friendliness of various courses.

The two day workshop will cover all the 260 courses developed by seven IITs and IISC Bangalore, so far.
