Sir,I need some more clarification on prismatic and non-prismatic channels.Flow in a channel is said to be steady if the flow characteristics are time independent.but the condition for PRISMATIC channel is flow will be steady if only the depth should not change with time.why?pls help me.

In the case of impact of jet on an inclined plate,why the mass rate striking the plate is not taken as rho*(a/sin(theta))*v ? bcoz the area on which water is striking is a/sin(theta).
