Question: how to introduce a new wale line in flat knitting procees
By: vicky anand     Date: 2012-11-04

Answer: A new wale line can be started by introducing idle needles into knitting process. For example if on a bed carrying 100 needles one is operating at any instant with 50 needles then by a selection process it is possible to introduce any number of the 50 idle needles into operational mode, thereby increasing the number of wale lines and widening the resultant fabric. In a similar way wale lines can be reduced by withdrawing needles from active operation and narrowing the fabric.
